Ashley, Lauren and Gina have not only helped me academically in school but have also helped form me into the person I am today. They helped me utilize my strengths to overcome the struggles I have had in school and have ultimately led me to getting into an amazing college while teaching me all the tools to succeed. Making a kid believe that their weaknesses aren’t something that should be frowned upon but rather worked on and appreciated, it has helped me build character and realize that any struggle I have I can overcome.
— Peyton, Student, age 18
The edcahoots team is outstanding! I continually refer to them any time I have a kid whose self-esteem is impacted by their learning difficulties. Time and time again, these educational therapists are somehow able to “work magic” and I always get positive feedback from the families I refer to them. I do not have a “go to” therapist I recommend, because each person I have worked with is excellent.
— Dr. Sarah Haider, Psy.D., OCD and Anxiety Specialist, Gameplan Therapy
Any time parents are addressing a challenge that their child is experiencing, it can be an emotional, tense, and frustrating time. Ashley made all of that go away for us. She approached our situation with empathy and kindness, assuring us that she has only the best intentions and outcomes in mind for our daughter. We couldn’t be more grateful for the consultation and wisdom she provides and feel that we and our daughter are in very good hands.
— Wendy, Parent
edcahoots has been an amazing support system for my sons. Ashley and her team are top notch professionals and are extraordinarily talented about providing the exact support your child needs to succeed and feel confident in school. They are kind and patient and are responsive to parents’ questions and concerns (and I have many). We are beyond grateful for their help and guidance and I wholeheartedly recommend edcahoots without any reservation!

Sarah started to work with my daughter three years ago and I have seen remarkable improvement in my child during that time. Sarah is patient, and she took time to build a very warm and trusting rapport with my daughter. She skillfully assessed my child and pinpointed key issues, then made learning fun by engaging my daughter as she learned.
— Einat, Parent
We have been so fortunate to have Sarah work with our son over the last year and a half. Reading used to be a source of shame and often led to fights and tears. Sarah was able to engage our son and not only increase his reading competency and fluency, but also build his self confidence. Our son loves working with Sarah, and now has a love for books!
— Rachel, LMFT & Parent
I was very fortunate to have met Sami. Her support was invaluable to our family and my son. Academically, Sami provided my son with much needed writing building blocks and taught him tools on how to organize his thoughts. I saw an improvement in my son’s writing after very little time of them working together.
— Claudia, Parent
Our daughter began working with Sami in January of 2020 for help with reading and inferencing. Throughout a very tumultuous time, Sami was supportive, consistent, fun and effective. We were grateful to have her support our daughter during a challenging full-remote academic year.
— Anne & Sean, Parents
Our son struggled in kindergarten and first grade; he was impulsive, couldn’t pay attention, and refused to do any writing beyond the shortest of words and sentences. In a matter of months Hayley Ehrlich had our son telling long stories and paying attention for the full session; he dictated and illustrated his own book! And all this through Zoom! It was fun, creative, and self-directed. But most importantly Hayley connected with our son where he was and with what he needed without judgment; providing encouragement and scaffolded support along his journey.

Natalie, thanks again for all you do. I continue to be awed by how well you work with our son. He can go into the little work closet in tears from some assignment at school that’s really bothering him or just overwhelmed at all the things he needs to get done and you still manage to get his mood turned around and come out of that room 50 minutes later smiling and with a lifted mood. He has never responded so positively to any other reading-support options he’s tried.

Ashley came into our lives like an angel of mercy! We had been looking for an educational therapist for our fifth-grade son when she was recommended to us, and what a relief it was to meet her! She is a dedicated, thoughtful and passionate educator who brings much expertise and experience with her. She does a thorough job, not just teaching facts, but training our son to be prepared for whatever organizational, grammatical or formatting responsibilities he may encounter.

Ashley Shapiro has been a life raft to our Titanic. No more tears, no more stomach aches. She is not a tutor, she is a teacher...a teacher of life skills, an engaged, compassionate friend and mentor. If you want to turn your child’s life around...run, don’t walk, to her office. just don’t take Griffin’s appointment times, as we plan to be with ‘Team Ashley’ for as long as she’ll have us!

Thank you Ashley! You are our rudder...
— Karen, Parent
Ashley has gone well beyond our expectations in terms of her commitment and skill in addressing our son’s multiple challenges. She draws on a wide variety of modalities to create a seamless and fun experience for him, while remaining steadfastly focused on our agreed-upon learning goals. Yet she is incredibly flexible and facile, able to incorporate new information into her plans at a moment’s notice. In less than a year’s time, we have seen our son go from being unwilling to put a couple of sentences together to writing stories and short books. We feel so supported by her, and we know that our son is so much better off for their work together. Ashley is top of the line.

Just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I just finished reading Frankenstein and actually read every word! I actively read the whole time, I underlined quotes, I used post-it’s, and did chapter summaries! Oh yeah, and I didn’t fall asleep! So thank you for teaching me how to read more effectively because it’s really helpful!
— Marlee, Student, age 18
I never thought anyone could make math fun and Ash has done it! It’s been my child’s least favorite subject but since she’s been helping him, I can really see things are starting to click. Thank you for being patient with him as I know his mind can roam. You always know how to get him focused and on track and I have really noticed a big difference. We’re so grateful for your work and our child’s great improvement!
— Amy D., Parent
We are so lucky to have been working with Ash for the last year. She was instrumental with helping our then six year old daughter with her reading and math to stay on track while navigating the year of COVID and no school. Ash was able to engage, motivate and help our daughter reach her academic milestones through a very difficult time all over zoom.
— Sarah B., Parent
Ash has been an instrumental part of the improvement we’ve seen in our son’s writing and reading comprehension over the past two years. With her help, he has shown consistent growth in these areas that are measurable by his teachers in each reporting period. What we have noticed most as parents, however, is an improvement in his confidence.
— Lauren S., Parent
Stephanie worked with both of our children on everything from reading comprehension to executive functioning. Her individualized approach to each one of them as young, neuro-diverse learners was impressive. Her professionalism and detailed evaluations of their growth as students kept us apprised of their progress. Stephanie has helped our children feel pride in their studies and set them up for success as they enter upper grade levels. We are so grateful for her expertise, positive outlook, patience and contagious enthusiasm for learning no matter how difficult or daunting the material may have been for our kids.
— Mary Leigh Cherry & Tony de los Reyes, Parents
The best learning happens when the student and teacher have a trusting relationship. Stephanie understands this, and our daughter felt it. What’s so brilliant about Stephanie’s approach is the seamless integration of academics and social-emotional wellbeing.
— Heather Primus, MA, AMFT
We can’t say enough good things about Ash! Our son started working with her at the end of first grade, reading at a Kindergarten level, after an intensive summer schedule, he started 2nd grade at grade level, and has only continued to grow from there.
Ash has made EdTherapy both fun and productive. He’s always excited to go see her and she works wonders getting him to complete non-preferred tasks to help make progress.
He has gone from a struggling “at risk” student to thriving in school.
— Karen, Parent
Stephanie is a compassionate and caring educational therapist. My son has worked with many different therapists in the past but was never excited to go to sessions. With Stephanie, he went willingly and happily. Every session, my son was greeted with a smile and a warm embrace. He made more progress in the four weeks with Stephanie than he did in an entire year with other therapists. I highly recommend Stephanie. She’s bright, professional, and knows how to connect to her students.
