Master of Education, Learning and Teaching

Bachelor of Arts, Ethnomusicology

Liza has a master’s degree in Learning and Teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and completed post-masters coursework in Educational Therapy at California State University, Northridge. She is an Associate Educational Therapist with approval expected in January 2025. Prior to pursuing educational therapy, Liza worked in public, charter and private schools in Los Angeles as a special education assistant, 3rd grade general education teacher and learning specialist.

She has always been passionate about supporting students who learn differently and finding strategies that engage and excite them. School can be a challenging environment for neurodiverse students and children with learning disabilities, but relationships and evidence-based strategies can change that.

Liza is an Orton-Gillingham trained practitioner and believes in the power of structured, systematic, sensory approaches to literacy instruction. Additionally she has a deep understanding of school ecosystems and how to effectively collaborate with the various stakeholders involved in a child’s educational journey.

Outside of work, Liza loves to be physically active and you can find her in a dance class, yoga class or on a nature walk. She is an L.A. native and loves the beauty and diversity of her city!
