Services and Skills: Academic | Processing
Ashley Shapiro and her team look at the intersection of emotions, motivation, behavior, and cognition and the impact these factors have on learning to devise an individualized treatment plan that meets each student’s unique needs.
Our Services
Each service is customized to meet the unique needs of the individual student. We provide:
✓ CONSULTATION
The educational therapy process begins with a parent consultation. During the consultation, we review your child’s educational and developmental history, including psycho-educational testing.
✓ TAILORED EVALUATION
Informal and formal measures are used to gain information about your child’s strengths and challenges. The data collected from the consultation and assessment processes are used to establish educational and psychological treatment goals for educational therapy.
✓ PRIVATE SESSIONS
We work with clients in a one-to-one environment and utilize evidence-based interventions to address students’ weaknesses in learning and functioning. We capitalize on individual strengths to foster autonomous learning, improved self-esteem, and learning enjoyment.
✓ ADDITIONAL SERVICES
We act as the case manager for clients by collaborating with schools and allied professionals, enabling us to better serve each client's needs. We are available for classroom observations, meetings with teachers and parents, and correspondence with allied professionals.
Does your child struggle with organization and have difficulty initiating tasks or completing assignments on time?
